Service Learning

At Venture Christian Academy, we believe learning should do more than expand students’ knowledge; it should shape the people they are becoming. We strive to cultivate students whose learning leads them to love God and serve others with wisdom, compassion, and purpose.

At Venture Christian Academy, we believe learning should do more than expand students’ knowledge; it should shape the people they are becoming. We strive to cultivate students whose learning leads them to love God and serve others with wisdom, compassion, and purpose.

As students engage in meaningful activities that address real needs, they discover that their knowledge and gifts can be used to make a difference. They learn that education is not simply about mastering information but about becoming people who reflect Christ in how they think, create, solve problems, and serve their communities.

Service in Action

VCA students serve both locally and globally through meaningful partnerships and hands-on projects. Service relationships include:

Caring for Our Global Neighbors

  • Annual meal packing event in partnership with Kids Against Hunger to provide more than 20,000 nutritious meals to children experiencing food insecurity worldwide.
  • Partnership with Operation Christmas Child, sharing the love of Christ with children across the globe by shipping more than 300 packages annually.
  • Through our annual Speech Meet Service Partnership, students research real-world needs, advocate for nonprofit organizations through persuasive speaking, and inspire generosity that changes lives. Project impacts include:
  • Funding a new water well in Ethiopia by raising $3,000 in partnership with an Ethiopian ministry.
  • Supporting organizations such as Compassion International and Mercy Ships, bringing hope through child sponsorship, medical care, and life-changing surgeries.

Serving Our Local Community

  • In partnership with Venture Christian Church and CityTeam, students collect hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys and chickens for South Bay families in need.
  • Students in our Innovate & Create Institute design and 3D-print custom holiday ornaments for residents of a local senior living community, combining STEM design with compassion.
  • Create and personally deliver Valentine’s cards to residents at Vasona Creek Skilled Nursing Facility, fostering intergenerational connections and offering encouragement.
  • Middle school students volunteer at the Kiwanis Special Games, serving 1,000 Silicon Valley student athletes with special needs through a day of athletics, friendship, and encouragement.
  • Fourth graders raised more than $1,000 for Sleep in Heavenly Peace to provide beds for children in our local community.
  • In partnership with Venture Christian Church, our students practice hospitality and joyfully serve thousands of families across the greater San Jose community through three annual family-friendly events (Fall Festival, Winter Wonderland, and Spring Fair), cultivating Christ-centered leadership skills alongside their teachers and families.
