How Your Child Learns and Grows Each Day
In the elementary years, how your child learns matters just as much as what they learn. At Venture Christian Academy, teachers create a classroom experience where each student is supported, engaged, and understood.
Learning is active and hands-on from the earliest grades. Our youngest students explore new concepts through movement, conversation, and play-based experiences that align with their developmental stage. As they grow, that foundation expands into deeper academic work, helping them build strong skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking.
Instruction begins with a clear goal: helping every student reach a high level of mastery. Teachers set a strong academic target, then provide the support each child needs to get there. Through ongoing observation and data, they adjust instruction in real time so your child is always appropriately challenged.
Students develop critical reasoning through participation in structured conversations and create visual tools to clarify their thinking. This helps them not only understand new concepts but also learn how to express their ideas with confidence.

How is faith incorporated into the curriculum?
While families are not required to be Christian, we do approach every subject with a biblical worldview. In addition to weekly chapel, students study the Bible through The DeepRoots Bible Curriculum and learn to understand the historical reliability of scripture, ask meaningful questions, and apply God’s truth to their lives.

Small Classes, Individual Attention
With two classes per grade, capped at 20 students and classroom aides at every level, no one is overlooked. Teachers can support students who need extra help while also providing opportunities for those who are ready to go further.

Using a Science of Reading approach, students build essential literacy skills step by step — from early phonics to advanced language structures. Rather than relying on short excerpts, students read full novels, helping them develop comprehension, stamina, and a deeper love for reading.

Students consistently perform far above national private school averages on the NWEA MAP standardized test, with strong outcomes in both math and language. Instruction is designed to help students think deeply, communicate clearly, and be prepared for whatever calling God has for their lives.

Building Strong Foundations
Students engage daily in Bible, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Instruction is designed to help students develop essential skills while also learning how to think, communicate, and apply their knowledge with clarity.
Enrichment:
Exploring Interests and Creativity
As part of our regular school program, students participate in a variety of enrichment classes, including art, music, Spanish, physical education, and the Innovate and Create Institute, our STEM education lab. These experiences give your child opportunities to explore new interests, develop creativity, and build skills beyond the core classroom.
After School Options:
Connection and Opportunity
Elementary students can participate in dynamic after-school programs such as baking, ukulele and guitar, writing, chess, and arts-based classes, as well as athletics and performing arts. With new offerings each trimester, these experiences offer students an opportunity to discover new interests and build skills beyond the regular classroom curriculum.

Built for Your Family’s Day
The elementary school day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m., with extended care available until 5:00 p.m. This schedule provides a balance of focused learning, movement, and time to connect with peers and teachers.
